Better World Books August 2, 2008
is an e-shop with really cheap new and used books. Used books cost $4 and onwards, and worldwide delivery costs $3 per book (free in the US) — very cheap.
Bought 2 books there, it took less than 3 weeks to be delivered to Uzbekistan — good service!
Highly recommended.

Yahoo! Domains — crazy! July 26, 2008
According to many sources, the domains registered by Yahoo! now cost $34.95 to renew every year — a $25 increase. You can verify this by checking the billing status of your domains.
I had 3 domains registered with them… until yesterday. Yesterday I transferred them to DreamHost (I use their one and only hosting plan) and will be paying $9.95 every year.
No more Yahoo! domains.

Never ever use Windows Live Photo Gallery July 11, 2008
If you just need a simple and fast image viewer — use and never ever use the sluggish Windows Live Photo Gallery (what a long name!) on Windows XP.
Why?
Because it is so slow — even in my 3.3 GHz Core 2 Duo and 2 Gb of RAM it takes about 2 seconds to start.
And you can’t just point the cursor to the upper right corner of your screen and click to close this program — you actually have to point to the “×” button, because it is around 10 pixels away from the actual corner of the screen.
And it has an awful zoom, so it blurs your text to death when not in 100% zoom.
Awful.
PS. I am just talking about the viewer part. Never used the organizer part, so no harsh feelings towards it.

Football June 27, 2008
So, Russia was beaten by Spain… The finals will be between Germany and Spain. I think it will be a boring game.
And by the way, Uzbekistan advanced to the next level of World Cup 2010 qualifiers. The next game will be against Australia on September 10 in Tashkent.

Internet software, eh? June 15, 2008
I was browsing using Firefox today and decided to listen to Uzbekistan’s anthem. I open the corresponding page and I get this:
Since when browsers are called “Internet software”? The definition is a bit archaic, IMHO.
